Back-2-School

Outreach

Every year, the Los Angeles Mission and community partners come together to help families and children in need. We highlight the value of education as a key pathway out of poverty through our annual Back 2 School event. Hosted in partnership with foster agencies, Guardians of Love and Inner Circle, along with Coco's Angels, the event is a day of hope and fun for kids of all ages. This event will impact an estimated 500 foster children and their families. Join us on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 from 11 am- 3 pm at 3903 Tyler Avenue in  El Monte.

Your support will help us meet a huge need in our community. In the SPA 6 area of LA, where we are hosting the event, 24.2%* of children are living below the federal poverty line. Our mission is to help provide children living in under-resourced communities with resources, opportunities and exposure to potential career paths they might not have ever thought possible.

Due to the soaring costs of both housing and transportation in Los Angeles County, many people who work – even families with two incomes – often can’t make ends meet or put enough food on the table. Families living at or below the poverty level are the most susceptible to homelessness. Together, let's provide a hand-up out of poverty and into hope!
